Beijing, September 9 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China in a press conference on Sept. 7 expressed the stand of the government against the U.S. Administration's new arms sales plan to Taiwan.

He strongly urged the U.S. to be well aware of the harmful and sensitive nature of the arms sales to Taiwan and stop them.

He demanded the U.S. preserve the three joint communiques between China and the U.S. and the principle of the August 17 joint communique, in particular, and not stand in the way of the peaceful development of the cross-straits relations.
