Pyongyang, September 10 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, sent a congratulatory message to Bashar al-Assad, president of the Syrian Arab Republic, on Saturday on his 46th birthday.

In the message Kim sincerely hoped the president would always enjoy a healthy and happy life and the friendly Syrian people achieve progress and prosperity, reiterating the invariable support and solidarity of the DPRK with the efforts of the Syrian president, government and people for peace and stability of the country.
