Pyongyang, September 11 (KCNA) -- An opening ceremony of school term of Korean students was held at Jilin Yuwen Middle School, China on September 8.

Present there were officials of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Ministry of Education of China, the Education Agency of Jilin Province, the Jilin City People's Government and the school and its teachers and students and Korean students studying there.

DPRK Ambassador to China Ji Jae Ryong was present.

Speeches were made at the ceremony.

Speakers from the Chinese side recalled with deep emotion the days when President Kim Il Sung studied at the school. He recorded a brilliant chapter in the history of the development of the school, they noted.

The traditional Sino-DPRK friendship has made new progress in recent years under the deep care of the top leaders of the two countries, they said. They voiced the expectation that the Korean students would study hard and do life well as the successors to the Sino-DPRK friendship and contribute to boosting the Sino-DPRK friendly relations.

The DPRK consul general in Shenyang said the Korean students should bear deep in mind the honor of studying at Jilin Yuwen Middle School and study hard to grow up to be talented persons of the country.

At the end of the ceremony its participants went round the classroom where Kim Il Sung studied and other places.
