Pyongyang, September 11 (KCNA) -- DPRK women's football team won a berth to the 2012 Olympic Games by defeating its Thai rival 5:0 on Sunday.

Asian regional women's final soccer preliminaries were held in Jinan, Shandong Province, China from September 1 to 11.

Teams from DPRK, China, Japan, Thailand, Australia and south Korea held league matches.

The DPRK team defeated the Australian rival 1:0 and south Korean rival 3:2 and drew with Chinese and Japanese teams.
