Pullback of U.S. Forces from S. Korea Urged
|

Pyongyang, September 12 (KCNA) --In order to realize the unanimous desire of the Korean nation for independence, peace and reunification it is imperative to put an end to the U.S. policy of its forces' presence in south Korea at an early date as it is quite contrary to that desire. Rodong Sinmun Monday says this in a bylined article. It goes on: The U.S. presence in south Korea is a gangster-like act of aggression disregarding the will and rights of the Korean nation to independent development. The U.S. presence in south Korea is a stumbling block lying in the way of national reconciliation, unity and reunification. The U.S. is giving impetus to the relocation and buildup of the U.S. forces stationed in south Korea, paying no heed to the Koreans' voices calling for the pullback of the U.S. aggressor forces from south Korea. It is escalating the moves for a war of aggression against the DPRK. Looking back on history, the U.S. has encouraged the moves to bedevil the inter-Korean relations in a bid to maintain its domination over south Korea, displeased with any process of the north and the south to achieve reconciliation, cooperation and reunification. The U.S. still keeps tens of thousands of troops in south Korea. This lays a stumbling block in the way of defusing the tensions on the Korean Peninsula, ensuring peace on it and mending the inter-Korean relations. It is an urgent historic task of the nation whose fulfillment brooks not a moment's delay to put an end to the U.S. military presence and rule over south Korea. There is neither ground nor excuse for the U.S. forces to stay in south Korea. Steadfast are the faith and will of all Koreans to drive the U.S. aggressor forces out of south Korea and build a thriving reunified country on this land by pooling wisdom and efforts of the north and the south of Korea. |
