Reception Given by DPRK Government for Taekwon-Do Players

Pyongyang, September 12 (KCNA) -- The DPRK government hosted a reception in honor of the participants of the 17th ITF Taekwon-Do World Championships at the People's Palace of Culture Monday.

Present there on invitation were Jang Ung, president of the ITF and its vice-presidents and Phap Lu, secretary general of the ITF, Han Chun Hui, widow of Choe Hong Hui, former president of the ITF, and teams from different countries and regions and honorary guests.

Present there were Kang Nung Su, vice premier of the Cabinet, Kim Kyong Ho, chairman of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee, and Ryang Man Gil, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee who doubles as chairman of the organizing committee of the Championships and officials concerned.

Speeches were made at the reception.

Kang Nung Su said that the championships offered a significant opportunity of preserving the tradition of the Taekwon-Do and fully demonstrating its advantages.

He expressed belief that the ITF would fulfill its mission as a just and genuine martial arts organization and positively contribute to strengthening and developing it.

Phap Lu said he would join dear Korean Taekwon-Doists in devoting everything to the development of the ITF.
