Moscow, September 11 (KCNA) -- An official spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry on September 8 rejected the remarks of the Japanese minister of Foreign Affairs on the dominium over Southern Kuriles.

Southern Kuriles is an inviolable legitimate part of the Russian territory according to the results of World War II, he said, adding the sovereignty of his country over them is beyond any doubt as it is based on relevant provisions of international treaties and the UN Charter.

The remarks of the Japanese minister of Foreign Affairs on the dominium over Southern Kuriles are arousing regret of the Russian government and have no positive impact on the bilateral relations, he stressed.
