Awarding Ceremony of 17th ITF World Taekwon-Do Championships Held

Pyongyang, September 12 (KCNA) -- An awarding ceremony of the 17th ITF World Taekwon-Do Championships took place at the Taekwon-Do Hall on Monday.

Present there were President Jang Ung, vice-presidents and members of the ITF, Kim Kyong Ho, chairman of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee, Ryang Man Gil, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee who doubles as chairman of the organizing committee of the 17th ITF Taekwon-Do World Championships, officials concerned and working people in the city.

Prior to the awarding ceremony, there were finals in sparring matches of men and women teams.

here was an announcement of the standings to be followed by prize awarding.

The DPRK bagged 4 trophy cups, 19 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 3 bronze medals to be the first in the country standings.
