Pyongyang, September 14 (KCNA) -- The Numeral Mathematics Department of the Mathematics Faculty of Kim Il Sung University of the DPRK succeeded in turning black-and-while films into color ones.

This method of color conversion is considered as the latest image processing as it requires high mathematic intelligence and knowledge and a high standard of working out algorithm.

Its teachers and researchers found out the unique method of solving equation in order to color the black-and-white static image. On this basis, they newly studied algorithm and programs to turn the black-and-white cinefilm into digital image, coat it with color, color control and re-editing of color picture in an indigenous manner in a matter of over 40 days.

This success has been consolidated in the course of reproducing various black and white feature films into color ones.

The reproduced color feature film "The Flourishing Village" is good in color, distinct in contrast and sharper in picture than the past one thanks to effect of diverse colors.

The film was appreciated by experts.

A state certificate of registered scientific and technological achievements was awarded to the above-said method.
