Pyongyang, September 14 (KCNA) -- Japan's Industry Minister Yoshio Hachiro resigned from his office Saturday after making an improper remark concerning the Fukushima nuclear crisis. His resignation came less than ten days after he assumed the post.

After making an inspection tour of the radioactivity-affected areas in Fukushima with the prime minister on Sept. 8, Hachiro called the areas "town of death" at a press conference.

The minister's remark was viewed as what hurts the afflicted people in their effort for rehabilitation and reconstruction.
