Beijing, September 13 (KCNA) -- A senior Chinese official underscored the need to strengthen the education of pre-school children.

Speaking at a recent meeting in Xian City, Shanxi Province, State Councilor Liu Yandong said developing the education is related to healthy growth of hundreds of millions of children, vital interests of the popular masses and the future of the state and the nation.

"We should regard the education as an important mission for promoting the scientific development of the educational work in a new era," she added.
