Beijing, September 14 (KCNA) -- The Chinese premier stressed the need to develop culture in the country.

Addressing a round-table talk marking the 60th anniversary of the Chinese Literature Publishing House held at the Great Hall of the People recently, Wen Jiabao said the development of the country and progress of the nation require not only a powerful economic force but advanced culture and moral traits.

Without the development of advanced culture, it is impossible to improve the qualifications of the nation and achieve genuine modernization, he said.
