Pyongyang, September 15 (KCNA) -- The DPRK is getting the lead in the Group E preliminaries for the 2012 Asian U-16 Football Championship, which are going on at Kim Il Sung Stadium in Pyongyang.

As of Thursday, Malaysia finished all four matches and other nations -- the DPRK, China, Singapore and East Timor -- had three matches.

The DPRK and China won all the three matches, but the DPRK, the winner of the previous championship, has scored 15 goals, 7 more than China.

Preliminaries are taking place in several countries, divided into seven groups.

The finals will be participated in by two top teams from each group and two third-place teams with highest points from all groups (one from east Asia and the other from west Asia).
