Pyongyang, September 16 (KCNA) -- A national meeting for celebrating the 63rd anniversary of the DPRK took place in Lima on Sept. 7 under the sponsorship of the Peruvian Preparatory Committee for Commemorating the Centenary of Birth of President Kim Il Sung. Meetings, seminars, photo exhibitions and film shows were held in Vietnam, Denmark, Sweden and India between Sept. 4 and 6.

Genaro Ledesma Izquieta, chairman of the People's Front of Workers, Peasants and Students of Peru who doubles as national coordinator of the Committee, and other speakers praised the undying feats of Kim Il Sung who founded the DPRK and built a socialist power.

Leader Kim Jong Il is triumphantly smashing all the moves of the U.S. imperialists and their followers to stifle the DPRK and wisely leading the work to build a thriving socialist nation of Juche with his Songun revolutionary leadership, thus successfully realizing the plan and desire of the President for building a rich and powerful country, they noted.

Pham Tat Dong, chairman of the Vietnam-DPRK Friendship Association, said that Korea, once backward colonial and semi-feudal state, has turned into a powerful socialist state, wishing it fresher progress in the future.

Anders Kristensen, chairman of the Denmark-DPRK Friendship Association, noted that no one can block the advance of the Korean people as long as there are the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il and the single-minded unity of the whole society.

Wipin Gupta, chairman of the Juche Philosophy Study Committee of India, said that the DPRK is dynamically advancing toward the eminence of a thriving socialist nation under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il who is carrying forward the cause of the President.

Congratulatory messages to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the events.
