Seriously Burnt Child Revived in DPRK

Pyongyang, September 16 (KCNA) -- Medical workers of the Children's Hospital in Kaesong City of the DPRK brought a seven-year-old girl who had been in the jaw of death back to normal life in more than 300 days. On Nov. 10, 2010, Choe Sol Gyong who lives in Koryo-dong of Kaesong City got unexpected burns and was rushed to the hospital. She had third or fourth degree burns on the 43 percent of her body and was on the brink of death. The hospital brought the fainted girl round and removed poisoning from burns in at least 20 days. Several skin-grafting operations were conducted during the period. Not only officials and employees of the hospital but also officials, youth and students and people's security workers in the city donated their blood and flesh to the girl. Their number reached a total of over 1 700. After the operations they brought different kinds of restoratives and foods with sincerity. In ten months the girl has been fully revived. Leaving the hospital Wednesday, the girl, her mother and all other members of her family sang the song "We Are the Happiest in the World". |
