Pyongyang, September 17 (KCNA) -- In order to frustrate the moves of foreign forces for aggression and domination now getting serious day by day and more dynamically advance the cause of national reunification it is necessary for the Koreans to attach importance to the nation, not to foreign forces, and depend on its strength.

Rodong Sinmun Saturday says this in a signed article.

To attach importance to the nation and depend on its strength presents itself as an urgent requirement for accomplishing the cause of national reunification, the article notes, and goes on:

Domination and interference by foreign forces is the basic factor of disturbing the unity of the nation and its reunification.

It is the most important issue to believe in the strength of the nation and firmly establish an independent stand under the present situation where foreign forces get evermore undisguised in their acts of disregarding and violating the sovereignty of the Korean nation.

The south Korean authorities have been engrossed in flunkeyism towards the U.S. and dependence on foreign forces. This servile attitude has further encouraged the U.S. in its arrogance and brought the disgrace of allowing foreign forces to trample down upon the interests of the nation. Flunkeyism and treachery and dependence on foreign forces lead to national ruin.

If the nation is to put an end to the high-handed and arbitrary practices of foreign forces and protect its sovereignty and dignity it should believe in its own strength and depend on it.

Only when one reposes trust in the strength of the nation, can one establish an independent stand before any difficulties and only when one relies on that strength, can one foil the moves of foreign forces for domination and interference.

The Korean nation has a good tradition in which it beat back foreign aggressors by its concerted efforts throughout its history spanning 5 000 years. There is nothing impossible for the Korean nation if the north and the south pool their strength in the spirit of "By our nation itself."
