DPRK Seeks Winning Streak in Asian U-16 Football Championship

Pyongyang, September 18 (KCNA) -- Group E preliminaries for the 2012 Asian U-16 Football Championship, that began at Kim Il Sung Stadium in Pyongyang on September 8, closed Sunday, with the DPRK and China having the last match. The two teams are already qualified for the championship with three wins. The DPRK boys score a goal three minutes before the end of the extra time, thus placing first in the group. After the match, senior coach of the DPRK team Paek Kil Song told KCNA that he was satisfied with the results of the match. "Our team seeks to be second consecutive winner in the championship. To this end, all players and coaches of our team will intensify training in concert to score good results in future matches," he added. The Chinese team's coach, Xu Lei, said there was not good teamwork as it is not long since the team was organized. It was very difficult that the Chinese team matched with its DPRK rival. The Chinese team was defeated by the DPRK team but it will prepare well for the championship as it is qualified for the championship, he said. -0- The DPRK team scored 12 points by winning all the four matches it played. It gained 16 goals. |
