Pyongyang, September 19 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Democratic Labor Party of south Korea on Sept. 16 issued a commentary castigating the Japanese reactionaries for refusing to make apology and reparation for the crimes committed by Japan in the past.

The Imperial Japanese Army took away Korean women and forced them into sexual slavery, thus inflicting sufferings and disgrace on them, it noted, urging Japan to redeem these crimes without fail.

It accused the Japanese government of evading this historical responsibility and refusing to make apology and reparation.

If Japan persistently evades its responsibility for redressing its past crimes, it will not escape the worldwide criticism, it warned, demanding the Japanese authorities honestly opt for settling the issue of comfort women.
