Korean Reunification by Federal Formula Supported in Nigeria

Pyongyang, September 20 (KCNA) -- An organization and public figure of Nigeria fully supported the DPRK's proposal for national reunification.

The Nigerian National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea on Sept. 9 posted an article on its Internet homepage.

The article said:

The inter-Korean relations were extremely deteriorated due to the policy of the south Korean authorities for confrontation with fellow countrymen.

Korea should be reunified by federal formula at an early date.

No matter how desperately the anti-reunification forces may work, the Korean people are becoming more steadfast in their faith and will to reunify the country by federal formula under the banner of the Three Charters for National Reunification.

M. M. Alhassan, chairman of the Nigerian National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, in a statement on Sept. 13 said that if the north and the south absolutize their ideas and systems and force them on the other party, it will only spark off confrontation and conflict and perpetuate the division. The statement went on:

The inter-Korean relations which had favorably developed in the 21st century have reached such phase that they arouse deep concern owing to the anti-reunification moves of the present south Korean authorities.

The federal formula is a reunification proposal which calls upon the north and the south to co-exist and enjoy co-prosperity, leaving their ideas and systems as they are.

We extend once again firm support and solidarity to the DPRK government and people in their struggle to uphold the socialist banner and reunify the country independently and peacefully on the 31st anniversary of the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo.
