Pyongyang, September 20 (KCNA) -- Qu Xing, president of the China Institute of International Studies, said on Monday that the DPRK is fully ready for the resumption of the six-party talks for the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.

Addressing an international symposium marking the 6th anniversary of the September 19 joint statement, Qu quoted the DPRK's vice foreign minister, Ri Yong Ho, as saying the country would suggest a new solution if the talks were reopened.

"U.S., south Korean and Japanese scholars expressed satisfaction over the DPRK's readiness and attitude. They also said they were optimistic about the resumption of the talks," Qu said.

The scholars shared the view that it is high time that the talks were resumed, the president added.
