Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- Tyokansan Sanomat, the organ of the Communist Workers' Party of Finland For the Peace and Socialism, on Sept. 15 edited an article on the completion of the large-scale waterway tunnel project by builders of the Huichon Power Station of the DPRK.

The completion of the large-scale waterway tunnel which stretched deep to high mountains provided a sure guarantee for hitting the target of the power station construction in the DPRK earlier than scheduled, the article said, and went on:

General Secretary Kim Jong Il visited the construction site of the power station several times, indicating the orientation and ways of finishing the waterway tunnel ahead of schedule. And he made sure that the problems arising in the project were settled, instilling boundless strength and courage into the builders.

In order to finish the project ahead of schedule, all the builders completed the concrete covering of the whole section of the waterway tunnel and then even the project for shutting down the work pit early in July this year. As a result, they successfully completed the construction of the waterway tunnel in a matter of more than 800 days.

The Huichon Power Station will be completed before long thanks to the energetic and wise leadership of Kim Jong Il and the dynamic drive of soldiers of the People's Army and builders.
