Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- Among the beauty spots in world-famous Mt. Kumgang is Sangphaldam (eight upper pools).

The eight pools are above the Kuryong Falls in Outer Kumgang.

The pools are characterized by wonderful shapes and crystal-clear water.

Pine nut, maple and other trees are growing around the pools with their colors changing from season to season in harmony with the pools and nearby cliffs.

The water of the pools falls along a dizzy cliff to form a fantastic waterfall. The torrent is called Kuryong Falls, one of the three most famous waterfalls in the country.

Sangphaldam has a legend that eight fairies came down there from sky through rainbow and took bath in the clean water.
