Moscow, September 22 (KCNA) -- The general director of Rosatom, a state-run nuclear power corporation of Russia, declared the country will continue to develop nuclear power, taking into account the lesson drawn from the Fukushima nuclear accident.

Speaking at a general meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency held in Vienna on Monday, he said that however serious the accident may be, it should not serve as an occasion of giving misgivings to the future nuclear power development.

Russia pays priority to nuclear security, he said, suggesting that all the countries concerned and relevant international organizations jointly improve the methods and norms of evaluating nuclear security and exchange the results with each other.
