Pyongyang, September 25 (KCNA) -- Thailand-DPRK Friendship Association released a statement on Sept. 20 congratulating leader Kim Jong Il upon his successful visits to the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China.

The Thailand-DPRK Friendship Association received exciting news that he paid historic visits to the Siberian and Far Eastern regions of the Russian Federation and the Northeast region of the People's Republic of China from August 20 to 27 this year.

We are confident that his visits to Russia and China marked historical events of particular significance in further developing the traditional DPRK-Russia and DPRK-China friendly relations, safeguarding the peace and security in Northeast Asia and the rest of the world and triumphantly advancing global independence. We warmly congratulate Kim Jong Il upon his successful historic foreign tours.
