Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- Genaro Ledesma Izquieta, chairman of the People's Front of Workers, Peasants and Students of Peru, issued a statement on Sept. 19 on the 66th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The Korean people have firmly defended their idea and system with the Juche idea founded by President Kim Il Sung as the only guidelines, the statement said, and went on:

The President strengthened socialist Korea into an independent country.

The Korean people have strived to create a new life and firmly defended the country.

The U.S. and the south Korean authorities have recently committed provocations against the DPRK but its army and people resolutely beat them back.

The U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet forces can never bring the Korean people to their knees.

The Korean people are making every possible effort to grandly commemorate the centenary of birth of the President.

Socialist Korea stands unfazed by the worldwide economic crisis and all the people are waging a dynamic drive to build a thriving nation.

Great achievements have recently been registered in economic construction of the DPRK.
