DPRK's Proposal for Reunification by Federal Formula Supported by Indian Figure

Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- Suneet Chopra, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) who doubles as secretary general of the All India Indo-Korean Friendship Association, fully supported a statement issued by a spokesman for the Disarmament and Peace Institute of the DPRK Foreign Ministry.

He said in a statement on Sept. 20:

The international community is deeply concerned about the inter-Korean relations deteriorating and being driven into the state of confrontation and the brink of war since the emergence of the present south Korean authorities even though they had favorably developed at the outset of the 21st century.

The south Korean authorities are to blame for the systematic deterioration of the inter-Korean relations that reached the point of explosion.

In the Korean Peninsula in which the north and the south have lived divided with differing ideas and systems for over half a century, the present south Korean authorities' foolish attempt at "unification" means one party swallowing up the other party.

In essence, this is the declaration of a war against the DPRK, an act as dangerous as a war.

Under the situation in which differing ideas and systems exist in the north and the south, the reunification of the Korean Peninsula should be achieved only by federal formula called for by the DPRK.

We fully support the statement of a spokesman for the Disarmament and Peace Institute of the DPRK Foreign Ministry and will always extend firm solidarity to the Korean people in their struggle to reunify the country by federal formula.
