Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- If the south Korean authorities persist in the confrontation policy going against the trend of the times and the desire of nation, the north-south relations can never get rid of a catastrophe and the increasing danger of war cannot be removed. Rodong Sinmun Monday says this in a bylined article. The article says: The "policy towards the north" pursued by the present south Korean authorities is, in essence, traitorous policy of confrontation to realize the ambition for "unification under the system of liberal democracy" by pressing the "north to scrap nuclear program first and leading it to opening". The south Korean authorities, from the beginning, have regarded the north not as the one with whom it should get reconciled and cooperate but as a "principal enemy", target of confrontation. They have turned away from the positive efforts of the north for improving the inter-Korean relations under the groundless pretence that there is no sign of "sincerity" and got more desperate in implementing their policy of confrontation. Their heinous moves of confrontation against the fellow countrymen only resulted in escalating confrontation and increasing the danger of a nuclear war. Their confrontation policy invited strong denunciation from the people and caused a serious ruling crisis. The policy doing harm to the destiny of the nation and destroying the inter-Korean relations met stronger protests from the public of different social standings, driving the conservative group into a tight corner. The inter-Korean relations of over the past three and a half year period taught a serious lesson that the persistence in the confrontation policy under the signboard of "maintenance of principles" while continuously denying the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration will bring catastrophe of the north-south relations, danger of war, worst ruling crisis and international isolation. |
