Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) -- A briefing on Korean tourism took place at Yanggakdo International Hotel Tuesday on the occasion of the World Day of Tourism.

Present there on invitation were representatives of international organizations and staff members of foreign embassies here.

Director Kim To Jun and officials of the State General Bureau of Tourism took part in the briefing.

Kim To Jun referred to the fact that having a lot of famous tourist resorts, the DPRK is directing efforts to the development of tourism.

Hundreds of scenic spots including Mts. Paektu, Myohyang, Kumgang, Chilbo and Kuwol have successfully been built as cultural recreation centers and tourist resorts, he added.

He expressed the will to make efforts to develop tourism in touch with international organizations.

U.N. Resident Coordinator to DPRK Jerome Sauvage introduced tourist resorts and service facilities in Korea.

The participants watched video "Korea of scenic spots" and looked round photos on display.
