Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) -- Cambodia and Philippines were recently hit by flooding following heavy rainfalls.

57 Cambodians and one British tourist were killed in the flooding as of Sept. 23 and 7,891 hectares of rice fields were also affected and 63 animals were killed.

Southern areas of Philippines also witnessed casualties and the urgently evacuated inhabitants of more than 34 400 flats while 16 populated areas were inundated as of Sept. 24.

Emergency relief steps have been taken in the afflicted areas.
