Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) -- The south Korean paper Hangyore on Sept. 21 carried an article contributed by Pak Ki Hak, permanent member of the Peace and Reunification Research Institute, rejecting the assertion of the puppet Navy to justify the Jeju naval base construction.

The article accused the naval authorities of citing marine transport route and the protection of seabed resources as a justification for building the Jeju naval base construction.

It went on:

Marine transport route is beyond the jurisdiction of south Korea as it is located in the open sea where ships of all countries are free for navigation.

If the navy takes a relevant military posture for its operations in these waters, this will cause such a baneful effect as inviting countermeasures from neighboring countries.

The naval authorities should stop at once the building of military base devoid of any justification.
