Moscow, September 26 (KCNA) -- Russian President Dmitri Medvedev urged the Federation Council to take due position in the political system of the country.

Speaking at a recent meeting with the new chairman of the Federation Council, the President said it should be a realistic upper house carrying out different national tasks with views of the regions put into consideration.

If the council feels that the interests of regions are not protected properly or does so in some contents of bills, there is nothing strange for the council to exercise its veto, he stressed.
