Moscow, September 26 (KCNA) -- The Russian President proposed Prime Minister Vladimir Putin as a candidate for the presidential election at the United Russia party congress on September 24.

At the congress Putin suggested Dmitri Medvedev be on the top of the party list. Medvedev accepted Putin's offering.

Medvedev also said that he is willing to lead the new government and work for the country after the United Russia party won the election of the State Duma.
