Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- Recently, Japan launched a new intelligence gathering satellite at Tanegashima Space Center for the purpose of monitoring the military facilities of the DPRK.

The espionage being openly intensified by Japan against the DPRK regardless of sign of detente on the Korean Peninsula and in its vicinity cannot but arouse concern of the international community.

Japan's launch of the above-said satellite is aimed at establishing a space spying system capable of accurately monitoring movements in the strategic areas including the Korean Peninsula and its vicinity and strengthening it. In the final analysis, it is designed to round off the preparations for a war of aggression, i.e. for mounting a preemptive attack on any target at any time. In a word, intelligence gathering by satellite means spying on strategic targets necessary for Japan's reinvasion.

The Japanese reactionaries' moves for reinvasion through space did not start recently.

Japan has long maintained the stand of using space for "peaceful purposes".

After adopting a "law" which calls for limiting space use to peaceful purpose" in 1969 Japan talked about the "peaceful use" of space while considering it as a strategic goal to modernize arms and equipment of the "Self-Defense Forces" and control space behind the scene.

Japan has conducted research into spy satellite since late in the 1970s. It created Spy Satellite Office in April of 2001 and launched four satellites for spying and other purposes in 2003.

It launched rocket early in 2008 in the wake of the launch of H-2A rocket carrying intelligence gathering and optical satellites in February of 2007.

This helped Japan possess several spy satellites and acquire the capability to photograph all regions of the world everyday and satisfactorily gather necessary information.

The Japanese spy satellites are circling at an altitude of 400-600kms to closely monitor and spy on military facilities, troop movements, etc. in the DPRK and other regions of Northeast Asia. It is preposterous for Japan to cite a "military threat" from the DPRK to justify its launch of those satellites.

The DPRK has never fired even a single shell at Japan.

Nevertheless, Japan is getting frantic with intelligence gathering activities under the pretext of "threat" from the DPRK. This reveals its black-hearted intention to realize its wild ambition for reinvasion far from redeeming its crime-woven past.

Those who committed monstrous crimes are bound to feel uneasy.

Japan had better stop its rash acts, properly understanding who its rival is.
