Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- The Conference of the Workers' Party of Korea was held successfully in the capital city of Pyongyang on September 28, Juche 99 (2010).

The conference solemnly declared that President Kim Il Sung, who founded and triumphantly led the WPK and the Korean revolution, will always remain in the top leadership body of the party.

At the conference Kim Jong Il was reelected the WPK general secretary as wished by all the party members, servicepersons and other people.

The conference elected the WPK central leadership bodies, including the Central Military Commission with Kim Jong Un as its vice-chairman.

The WPK Conference was a political event of great significance in developing the WPK into the eternal party of Kim Il Sung and ushering in a bright future of Songun Korea.

The significance and vitality of the conference have been demonstrated in practice over the past one year.

The spirit of the conference calling for advancing toward a fresh victory in socialist construction with fortitude, closely rallied around the party, has prevailed throughout the country.

Support of the army and the people for the party and their trust in it have grown as never before.

Lots of people sent letters to the WPK Central Committee, pledging their loyalty to Kim Jong Il.

The military parade that was held in October 2010 to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the WPK, the elections of deputies to the provincial, city and county people's assemblies in July and the parade of Worker-Peasant Red Guards in September demonstrated the true picture of the DPRK and its might characterized by the harmonious whole of the leader, the party and the people.

A fresh progress has been made in the efforts to put the national economy on the Juche-oriented and modern basis and improve the people's living standards.

Kim Jong Il is energetically leading the Korean people in their drive for socialist construction.

He gave field guidance to the construction of the Huichon Power Station, which is an important project for the country's economic development and improvement of the people's living standards, four times from November last year.

There sprang up the Pyongyang Flour Processing Factory, Sonhung Foodstuff Factory, Pyongyang Vegetable Science Institute, Delicacy Restaurant under Okryu Restaurant, Hyangmanru Popular Restaurant, Pothonggang Department Store, Pothongmun Street Meat and Fish Shop, Soysauce Shop of the Ryongsong Foodstuff Factory, Stuffed Wheat Cake Shop of the Kumsong Foodstuff Factory, Pyongyang Stevia Processing Factory and many other modern production and service facilities and research institutes.

Changsong County launched an innovation drive to develop local industry and officials and working people in other parts of the country are following the suit to run local industrial plants with their own efforts.

Solid foundations for building an economic power have been laid in all economic sectors.

The Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex is taking the lead in this drive sweeping the whole country. It built a CNC-based high temperature air combustion furnace and made a great progress in its technological updating.

The Songjin Steel Complex has produced steel with raw materials and fuel available in the country.
