Havana, September 28 (KCNA) -- Fidel Castro, leader of the Cuban revolution, in an article recently contributed to the paper Granma clarified the stand of supporting Palestine's bid for a United Nations membership.

The issue of admitting the Palestinian independent state to the UN and recognizing it as a sovereign state has long been raised but not yet been settled, he said.

To recognize the Palestinian independent state will be a historic just act, he noted, stressing that the Palestinian people have the right to have a free sovereign state.
