Moscow, September 28 (KCNA) -- A large-scale training for preventing damage from tidal wave began in Vladivostok, Russia, on September 27.

The training involved units under the Ministry of Emergency in Maritime Territory and Khabarovsk along with fire brigades, rescue squads, medical workers, Pacific fleet's seamen and experts of public organs.

The training is aimed to discover and rescue victims in the sea, render medical assistance to them and put out fire in vessels.

A tidal wave warning and evacuation training is also planned in coastal areas of Vladivostok.
