Pyongyang, September 30 (KCNA) -- A. B. Bardhan, general secretary of the National Council of the Communist Party of India (CPI), met Rim Hoe Song, DPRK ambassador to India on Sept. 24.

The general secretary recalled that General Secretary Kim Jong Il visited the Siberian and Far East regions of Russia and northeast China, deepening the friendly relations between countries, boosting the international prestige of the DPRK and performing great exploits in the efforts to establish a fair international order and achieve peace in Northeast Asia and, furthermore, in the rest of Asia and the world. He warmly congratulated him on them.

The general secretary said the successes made by the Korean people in their socialist construction under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il greatly encourage the CPI.

The "theory on unification" touted by the south Korean authorities is very absurd and it is a reckless challenge as it will only lead to a war, the general secretary said, stressing that the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo advanced by President Kim Il Sung is the only way for achieving Korea's reunification.

The Communist Party of India will always support the Korean people in their efforts for socialist construction and national reunification, declared the general secretary.
