Moscow, September 29 (KCNA) -- Nikolai Makarov, chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, referred to its plan for modernizing the armed forces.

Trial products of arms and combat apparatuses to equip the Russian army were tested at the recent training Center-2011, he said, adding that they were more advantageous than those produced before.

This proved the truth of the line set forth by the Russian leadership to equip the armed forces of the country with the latest combat apparatuses and weapons, he stressed.

By 2015 more than 30 percent of the Russian armed forces will be equipped with new weapons and apparatuses, he added.
