Pyongyang, September 30 (KCNA) -- Kyunghyang Daily News of south Korea Wednesday editorially called for thoroughly eradicating irregularities and corruption of the ruling quarters.

The editorial referred to the fact that at the "meeting of state affairs" on Sept. 27 the chief executive underscored the need to strictly tame corruption and irregularities and make thorough investigation into them to clear suspicion.

However, the attitude of Chongwadae and prosecution make it hard to believe the sincerity of his remarks, the editorial said.

Those who perpetrated irregularities and corruption are justifying their misdeeds and the prosecution is feigning ignorance of them while saying there is nothing to investigate under the present situation, it deplored, adding:

The present ruling quarters are so deeply plagued with irregularities and corruption that the situation reached the dangerous phase.

The present regime can not just gloss over the situation, it warned.
