Pyongyang, September 30 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea gave the following answer to a question put by KCNA Friday as regards the fact that the south Korean conservative authorities deterred those concerned of the Funeral Committee of the south side from coming to Kaesong to take over the condolences of the north side over the death of Pak Yong Gil, widow of Rev. Mun Ik Hwan: As already known the south Korean authorities prevented those concerned of the People's Funeral Committee for Presbyterian Pak Yong Gil Who Explored the Road of Spring of Reunification from coming to Kaesong to take over the condolences of the north side over her death. Such wild act against humanity is something beyond common sense, a bullying act that can be committed only by those buoyed by confrontation with fellow countrymen. The puppet group's misdeed is touching off towering wrath of all Koreans. Pak was a pro-reunification patriot who dedicated her all to the democracy of the south Korean society and the reconciliation and reunification of the nation together with Mun. Moreover, it is quite natural for the north side to express condolences over her death as it had been in close connection with her on the road of reunification. But the south Korean authorities prevented the bereaved family and those concerned of the funeral committee from contacting those from the north side. This indicates how crazy they have gone in escalating confrontation against reunification. Do they have any face to talk about "traditional funeral etiquette" and "feelings" while barring fellow countrymen from meeting and expressing condolences? The puppet group desperately barred Pak and other south Koreans from visiting Pyongyang when they wanted to come over to Pyongyang to mourn the demise of President Kim Il Sung. Such misdeeds proved its true colors as a group of anti-DPRK confrontation elements as well as hooligans bereft of human ethics and morality and compatriotism. The nation will never pardon the puppet group for its crimes and we will certainly force it to pay for them. |
