Pyongyang, October 1 (KCNA) -- The Irish foreign minister, addressing a UNGA session on Sept. 26, clarified the stand of the government supporting the Palestinian independent state.

Palestine has the same right to membership of the United Nations as Ireland or any other member of this organization, he said. The decision to seek Palestine's membership of the United Nations is entirely legitimate.

The recognition of Palestinian statehood would give dignity and support to the Palestinian people who have suffered for too long, he noted.
