Pyongyang, October 3 (KCNA) -- President of the Bangladesh People's League Garib Newaz made public a statement on Sept. 27 to mark the 66th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.

In the statement he referred to the great success made by the Korean people in the revolution and construction under the leadership of the WPK founded by President Kim Il Sung.

He said the 66-year-long history of the WPK was a glorious course in which it turned the DPRK into a socialist power and led the human cause of independence to brilliant victory.

General Secretary Kim Jong Il made sure that the WPK has efficiently fulfilled its mission and role as the force guiding the cause of Songun, he added.

The Korean people have reliably defended the sovereignty and dignity of the country and pushed ahead with socialist construction, foiling all kinds of challenges of the imperialists under the guidance of the Party, he said.

He wished the WPK led by Kim Jong Il greater victory, extending constant support to the just cause of the WPK and the Korean people.
