Pyongyang, October 3 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification of south Korea in a commentary on Sept. 28 denounced the puppet authorities for perpetrating such pro-U.S. humiliating act as spending money collected as taxes from the people for the transfer of the U.S. military base in south Korea. It said: A few years ago, the military authorities said south Korea would cover about half of the expenses for the transfer of the U.S. military base in south Korea, but in actuality it has to cover nearly 93 percent of them. This was disclosed by the whistleblower website WikiLeaks. It was also disclosed that the authorities agreed with the U.S. intention to use the illegally accumulated money out of the funds for the upkeep of its forces collected from the south Korean people for the transfer of its base. The commentary accused the "National Assembly" of consenting to the 8th special agreement on sharing the expenses for the upkeep of the U.S. forces in 2009 and conniving at the issue of using the upkeep expenses for the transfer of their base. Pointing to the disclosure of the fact that negotiations were held with the U.S. on the issue of sharing the expenses for GIs' families' living conditions this year, the commentary noted there is high likelihood that south Korea would cover almost all those expenses. It expressed irrepressible wrath at the authorities' pro-U.S. humiliating behavior. |
