Yombun Revolutionary Site

Pyongyang, October 3 (KCNA) -- The Yombun Revolutionary Site is located in Kyongsong County, North Hamgyong Province. President Kim Il Sung visited Yombunjin on September 25, Juche 36 (1947) and indicated a way of forming a cooperative in the fishing village. Preserved in the village are spots where the President had a talk with fishermen and he angled, calling on them to increase the haul to fully supply people with fish. A spring where Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese war hero, drank water is also preserved. General Secretary Kim Jong Il visited Yombunjin in May 1984 and in September 2009 and gave tasks to turn the place into a recreation ground and intensify education through the revolutionary site. Standing in the village is a monument to the revolutionary exploits of the three brilliant commanders of Mt. Paektu. |
