Pyongyang, October 4 (KCNA) -- Ali Akbar Salehi, minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, addressing the UN General Assembly session on Sept. 30, called for enhancing the role of the UNGA in order to ensure the world peace and security.

The UNGA is the core of the UN and Iran places the UNGA above the UN Security Council, he said.

Accusing the UNSC of maintaining its unfair structure, he stressed the need to reform the UN in keeping with the worldwide trend of development.
