Pyongyang, October 5 (KCNA) -- The October people's resistance which took place in south Korea 65 years ago was a great patriotic action which powerfully demonstrated the indomitable spirit neither to tolerate the U.S. imperialists' colonial domination nor pardon the traitors who sold off the nation's interests.

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says in a signed article:

The October people's resistance was a manifestation of the south Korean people's strong spirit of resistance.

Under outside forces' colonial domination which ruthlessly violated sovereignty the south Korean people could neither protect human dignity nor the right to existence and they were more dead than alive. Therefore, they carried on a stubborn struggle, braving bloodshed and death in streets of resistance.

Much water has flown under the bridge but the soul of the participants in the October people's resistance who courageously fought in the teeth of fascist crackdown, defying death, is encouraging the south Korean people in their struggle to bring down the colonial system of outside forces and win new politics and a new life.

The October people's resistance teaches a bitter lesson that the south Korean people should carry on their struggle till they win independent dignity and the right to existence.

It also teaches the lesson of history that when the people get united, they are sure to emerge victorious but when they disperse, they are bound to suffer a defeat.
