Pyongyang, October 5 (KCNA) -- State academic degrees and titles were conferred on intellectuals who achieved scientific and technological successes in the general advance for opening the gate to prosperity.

A ceremony of awarding them took place on Wednesday.

The title of academician went to Mun Yong Ho, director of an institute of the Academy of Social Sciences, and the title of candidate academician to Jong Jae Bu, researcher of the State Academy of Sciences, Kwon Yong Ho, doctor of the Korea General Red-Cross Hospital, and others.

Professorship was conferred upon Hong Chol, department chief of Kim Il Sung University, Yun Yong Ryol, researcher at Kim Chaek University of Technology, Pak Chil Song and Ju Ho Song, researchers at the State Academy of Sciences, Kim Jik Su, researcher at the Pyongyang Astronomical Observatory, and others.

Doctorate went to Kim Mun Bong, deputy dean of a faculty of Kim Il Sung University, Ri Kwang, chief of a department of Kim Chaek University of Technology, Kim Chol Su, director of an institute of the State Academy of Sciences, Pak Song Chol, manager of the Kanggye Koryo Medicine Factory, Pak Kyong Hui, doctor of the Korea General Red-Cross Hospital, and others and associate professorship to 46 intellectuals.
