Pyongyang, October 5 (KCNA) -- Koreans in Uzbekistan and the United States held events on October 1 to mark the 4th anniversary of the historic October 4 declaration.

Attending them were officials of the organization of Koreans in Uzbekistan and compatriots, the charge d'affaires ad interim and staff members of the DPRK embassy in this country, members of the U.S. Regional Headquarters of the Pan-National Alliance for Korea's Reunification, the Federation of Koreans in the U.S. and other Korean organizations and compatriots

The "Declaration for development of the north-south relations and peace and prosperity" was read out at the events.

The participants said that the adoption of the October 4 declaration, a programme for implementing the June 15 joint declaration, was another great event in the history of the national reunification movement provided under the energetic leadership of Kim Jong Il.

They expressed their will to pool efforts to implement the inter-Korean declarations and wage a vigorous movement for reunification.
