U.S. Urged to Give up Anti-DPRK Confrontation Policy
|

Pyongyang, October 6 (KCNA) -- Some time ago, the U.S. provided AWACS E-737 known as "command in the sky" to south Korea. It also agreed with south Korea to round off the "plan for coping with provocation of a local war" targeted against the DPRK by late this year. Rodong Sinmun Thursday in a bylined commentary brands this as a dangerous military frenzy driving the situation on the Korean Peninsula to the extreme phase. The commentary says: The U.S. provision of E-737 to south Korea is aimed to expand its scope of operation. Such a military strategic step can be taken only on the eve of a war. The U.S. imperialists have long pushed forward the work for rounding off the system for commanding a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula. The U.S. has already completed the operation and commanding system for a nuclear war centered on the peninsula. It is also trying to perfect the nuclear war commanding system to suit the strategy of preemptive attack in the new century. The provision of E-737 was aimed to serve this purpose. This is a prelude to a nuclear war on the peninsula. The U.S. warlike and hard-line conservatives do not hope for the improved DPRK-U.S. relations nor the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. They seek only anti-DPRK confrontation policy and a scheme to ignite a new war. The U.S. is well advised to judge the reality with cool head and roll back its anti-DPRK confrontation policy which would do more harm than good. |
