Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- The Democratic Republic of Congo-Korea Friendship and Solidarity Association issued a statement on Sept. 28 on the 31st anniversary of the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo (DFRK).

President Kim Il Sung advanced the DFRK founding proposal meeting the interests of all Koreans, the statement said, and went on:

All Koreans in the north and the south and abroad are waging a dynamic struggle to achieve national reunification under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, regarding the said proposal as the only reunification proposal.

We recognize the proposal for achieving reunification through federal formula as the most realistic reunification proposal.

We will extend invariable support and encouragement to the Korean people in their struggle to reunify the country through federal formula in the idea of "By our nation itself" free from interference by foreign forces including the U.S.
